Welcoming Client Back to My Office!

The first signs of spring are starting to peak out, and with them, the tiniest glimmers of a transition away from the last year. On March 10, I received my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine, and will be considered fully vaccinated on March 24. With this, I now may safely begin seeing clients in person again. I am writing to outline the steps I am taking to insure that this is a safe and healthy process for all when I resume in person sessions April 1.

For the time being, I will continue to offer both in person and virtual appointments to allow high risk people and those uncomfortable with any possible risk to decide which is preferable to them. Additionally, I will be staggering my in person availability to insure that there are not too many people in my office over the course of a day. In person sessions are now available through my online scheduler.

If you have booked an in person session, your 48 hour confirmation will include a questionnaire to include whether you have experienced any symptoms of COVID-19 or other illness and whether you have been exposed. If you have and need to cancel, our session will switch to a virtual one, or you may cancel without charge. When you come in, we will confirm that you are not experiencing symptoms and have not been exposed to anyone with COVID-19.

I have purchased a powerful air purifier, used in medical offices and considered medical grade. It has been tested with COVID-19, and determined to kill 94% of COVID in the air over the course of an hour. If you would like the specifications of this air purifier I am happy to provide these. Additionally, during in person sessions, there will be two open windows, with a fan blowing air out of the office, as recommended for proper ventilation.

I will be seated no less than 6 feet away from clients at all times. When you come into my office, we will all be wearing masks, and we will all sit and use hand sanitizer before removing our masks. At the end of the session, the reverse will occur.

Between all in person sessions, all of my windows will be fully open for a minimum of 30 minutes and all hard surfaces will be disinfected.

I will no longer offer tea or coffee, and will no longer be providing tissues to clients in order to minimize the risk of any germ transference.

I developed these steps in consultation with health professionals and with the public recommendations of the CDC and WHO. I feel confident that these steps will minimize the risk to my clients of transmission of COVID-19. However, it is not possible for me to guarantee that no possibility of risk of COVID transmission both within my office and the larger building. Therefore, by booking sessions in person, you are agreeing to the risks inherent to in person sessions indoors.

I look forward to resuming in person sessions and to seeing you all when you are comfortable to return. Please let me know if you have questions. Take care and I hope to see you soon!
