I provide counseling and psychotherapy to individuals and families, offering supportive listening, insightful suggestions, and concrete behavioral interventions to create solutions. I have expertise in behavioral and emotional problems resulting from attachment disorder, attention deficit disorder, traumatic stress, depression, and anxiety.

Individual Adolescent & Adult Therapy
I work with diverse adolescents and adults seeking to define themselves, create meaning in their lives, and discover healthier and happier ways of living. I have worked with individuals to overcome struggles including anxiety, depression, ADHD, Post-Traumatic Stress, and identity issues. In this work, I help the individual create empowerment through supportive listening, mindfulness, and examination into past experiences to create insight and lasting change. As always, I weave in my style to suit each person, offering compassion, humor, and honest, straightforward reflection. Individual Sessions are 50 minutes and are scheduled to the individual’s needs and preferences.

Individual Child Therapy
I am experienced and trained in work with children experiencing attachment struggles, post traumatic stress, as well as grief and loss related to divorce or other family losses. Additionally, I am known for my work with behavioral problems which occur in the home, school, and social environments. I create clear, simple and effective behavior plans that, with consistent implementation and application, will eliminate behaviors such as defiance, inattention, arguing, aggression, lying, stealing, and tantrums. As the behavior plan is implemented, I also work individually with the child to uncover the source of the behavior, and help create new ways for the child to get his or her needs met. I use play, art, narrative and behavioral techniques to examine the child’s inner workings, and the meanings of the child’s behaviors. I am a therapist who relates exceptionally well to children, utilizing their means of communication, and a playful approach to facilitate change and healing. Concurrently, I will work closely with the parent or caregiver to monitor and support the adoption of new skills developed in therapy to the affected environment. Individual sessions last 50 minutes, and are commonly recommended weekly.
Family Therapy
Therapy is available for families experiencing conflict or challenge associated with relational dynamics within the family system. I utilize a Family Systems approach blended with Narrative Therapy techniques in my work with families to examine the problematic patterns of interaction that exist within the family, and how to create new ways of relating. These sessions will incorporate play, art, visualization, role play and other creative mediums tailored to the family’s needs and preferences. I balance the hard work and serious dialogue with humor and playfulness to bring about change in the most comfortable means possible. Family sessions last 50 minutes, unless otherwise structured based on family size or topic area. Family therapy commonly meets every other week, with homework assigned for the off weeks. This structure is effective at creating long-lasting change as a result of the commitment and energy that the family brings to the solutions.
Parent Support Therapy
Because of my experience working with children with severe behavioral problems, I have worked closely with many families coping with the stress of parenting a high needs child. In addition to family therapy, I offer parent support therapy, which is counseling for the parent of a high needs child, in helping them to cope and adapt with their unique family challenges. Therapy is available to new parents, parents who are blending families, parents coping with serious behavioral problems, or families coping with a child placed out of the home, or returning to the home after a separation caused by behavioral or emotional issues. I provide support, in the form of listening, validation, and insightful suggestions for coping and proactively attending to the challenges of parenting.
In-Home Therapy
In addition to traditional family therapy, I am available for in-home therapy and consultation. At times, it is more effective to provide family therapy in the environment in which the challenges occur. After determining that this is the most appropriate structure during the intake, I will establish goals and expectations for the home session, and will set a time that is mutually convenient. I am also available for in-home consultation, coaching, and parenting instruction for developing behavior plans, family routines, or other ‘environmental’ needs.
